Launch of Education Data Collective

Fewer kids. More school options. What that means for education leaders.

The K-12 education landscape is evolving faster than ever.

📊 Historic lows in U.S. birth rates, combined with high housing costs, are shrinking child populations in most cities. At the same time, families have more school options than ever, including district, charter, private, virtual, micro-schools, and homeschooling.

Together, these forces create significant uncertainty for education leaders, especially as enrollment declines ripple into funding challenges in a post-ESSER world.

Eighteen months ago, I co-founded Education Data Collective with Raja Ridgway, EdD to help leaders make sense of these demographic and competitive shifts. EDC builds on fourteen years of work at the intersection of demography and school choice, both during my time at Denver Public Schools and through consulting with school systems across the country. Raja brings seventeen years of leadership and a passion for user-centered design, helping us guide users from "What" to "So What" to "Now What."

There is no crystal ball in education. But I believe that rigorous data, expert support, and focused enrollment planning can help organizations navigate uncertainty with confidence.

🌐 Today, we are proud to support more than 900 users across 1,600 schools that collectively serve nearly 700,000 students.
